Tarragona Day 2 - part uno

We got up and had a wander about the old town and I managed to minimize k's time at the flea market. No moldy Spanish comics for her this year!

We sat outside at Plaza Del Forum for breakfast and it was already delightfully sunny. We had coffee, fresh oj and shared a massive plate of pan con tomate, it was a good time.

We were fueled up for a big wander about taking lots of pics of street art for the next couple of hours. There is a street with loads of painted bollards, a bit like great western road.

It was then time to eat some tapas, we only have one day here this year so we've had to plan carefully. We started at Piscolabis in Plaza Del Font, their tapa is a delicious ham and mushroom crepe with a cheezy sauce. We couldn't resist having some of their delicious patatas bravas too, very delicious! The deal is €2.50 for the special tapa plus a beer. Total bargain.

We crossed over the square for a pudding tapa, orange granita with cream and ice cream in top, it cooled us down so we could set off again. We headed down to the Rambla Nova and there was some sort of big cycling competition on - lots of men jn lycra. There was also a market along the Rambla so we wandered along til we got to our next tapa. Our next stop was Marmol by the market, it was a pouch of bread with secret Iberico and romesco. It was good but not as good as I thought it would be.

We wandered back along the Rambla planning to get some ice cream tapa before the 2pm cut off (it starts again at 730) but got distracted by the mini burger offering at Peggy Sue . We thought Peggy Sue was closed today so this was unexpected, we grabbed an outside table and placed our order. This was the first place we've been where it was wee bottles of beer rather than glasses so that was a bonus. Their offering was a mini burger with guacamole and a fried quails egg. I removed the egg and enjoyed the burger a lot, while K ate the egg and enjoyed it.

We then went at looked at the sea for a while and took the same photos as we've took before of the view, it really is lovely though! We came back to the hotel for a pee but K appears to be having a siesta, we need to get out and get some vermouth!!
