Malaga Day 2 - part 1
It's my birthday today so I'm happy to report it has been a great day. We had no real plans other than dinner which is booked for 9 at Meson Cervantes so we just decided to see where the day took us.
We headed out in search of breakfast at about 930. I was in the mood for pan tomate so knew I could get it anywhere so didn't make any firm plans. We were heading in the direction of the market when we approached Framil Cafeteria. It was rammed with Old Spanish people so I knew it must be good. We grabbed the last outside table and ordered coffee and pan tomate for 2, we also ordered a porra (the local type of big churros) each cos they looked banging. We we're correct, it was an excellent choice and very cheap. I love tiny Spanish coffee!
Post-breakfast we continued to head towards the market and passed an amazing looking homemade crisp shop. I have no idea how K restrained herself tbh. We went a walk about the market but didn't end up buying anything. It's always nice to see all the local produce!
After that we sat outside La Cueva de 1900 for a secondary coffee and just enjoyed the sunshine. It has been about 20 degrees today and absolutely roasting even though it has been cloudy at times.
We went a wander about the town and K bought some homemade vegetable crisps and we got some cheese and jamon for the apartment. We dropped the stuff off and I grabbed my sunglasses then we headed for the beach. We went a lovely walk along the front and stopped for a paddle. What a treat! Especially since the weather is so miserable at home.
When our tummies told us it was lunch time we headed to Gorki at muelle uno for a lunch with a view. It is a touristy place cos of the location but I was happy to pay a bit more for the view. The food was all delicious! We had jamon croquetas (again), a slightly different kind of bravas with boiled baby potatoes, chicken curry gyoza and the biggest portion of sobrasada I've ever seen. K played classic tourist with Fanta limon and I was back on the Victoria sin alcohol. I can't fault the food at all, every single thing was excellent!
After lunch we just had a wander and picked up another slice of cheesecake (which I didn't share) for the room. We're currently having chill time in the apartment, I had a non-alcoholic San Miguel with apple (very refreshing) and K is still working on a Victoria Sin and eating disgusting vegetable crisps. My cheesecake was wonderful, I'll be having another slice tomorrow!
No idea what we'll do until dinner in 4 hours. I'm exhausted!
